Concept & Design Rationale

Late-diagnosed, high-masking autistic women often experience mental overload and exhaustion but struggle to understand the underlying causes. Rather than a lack of data, the challenge is that existing tools fail to translate stress, masking and sensory strain into meaningful self-understanding.

Research indicated a mobile app as the preferred interface. To explore a more supportive and low-effort experience, I expanded the concept with a spatial home station that presents insights ambiently and reduces cognitive load.

Unveil combines biometric earplugs with AI to transform physiological and behavioral data into clear insights about energy, masking, and recovery — helping users recognise patterns and act before overload occurs. Rather than diagnosing, AI functions as an intelligent assistant, while human validation and local data processing ensure transparency, privacy and user control.
